Teddy’s Carriage House
In 2007, Luis Lamela joined drummer Diego Curcumelis to start their own project. About a year later, Bacbruce was finally formed and in 2009 they recorded their first EP with all original songs created during the 2007-2009 period.
The EP Rue du Bac was released on the same year and was presented with a live show at Libario, Buenos Aires. The songs “I Saw” and “Empties” where chosen to be played on 98.3 Mega Radio contest.
In 2010, Luis moved to Edmonton, Canada and in 2012 had a side project “Hidden Stache” with
Alex Fernando and released an electronic-rock double album self-titled. After this project he decided to return to the studio to release a new material with Bacbruce, releasing the maxi-single “PRE” in 2014. During 2015 he released a soundtrack called “A friend’s swimming pool”. “Just Worry!” is the latest EP release in 2018 and was played on local radio (NOW radio 102.3) and well received by online fans of the band.
In 2019, Bacbruce (with David Kelmer on drums, Al Obrig on bass) keeps playing the local
scene in such places as SMF, The Aviary, Make Music Edmonton Festival, Buckingham, plus
other Live Social Media events. Recently won the ‘Battle of The Bands Contest’, a successful fundraiser for Edmonton Arts. The band is currently putting the finishing touches on their second EP, with a launch date planned for December of 2019.
