Global Head of Music and Events, Riot Games

Maria Egan is the Global Head of Music and Events within the Entertainment division at Riot Games. In this role, she spearheads global music content for all of Riot’s gaming, television series and film projects. She also develops and executes the strategy for Riot’s location-based experiences that bring Riot’s iconic gaming IP to fans all over the world through real-life, mixed reality and virtual experiences. Additionally, she manages all music strategy, relationships and label partnerships. Since joining Riot, Maria oversaw Grammy-winning artist Lil Nas X and breakout star Jackson Wang’s performances at the opening ceremony for the 2022 League of Legends World Championships esports tournament, which saw record viewership. Additionally, Grammy-nominated vocalist, songwriter and producer Porter Robinson released the hit single and music video “Everything Goes On” for the League of Legends global Star Guardian event in July 2022. Maria previously served as the Chief Music Officer at Splice, where she led the company’s partnerships with artists, global music strategy, and served as Chair of the DEI Council. Before that, Egan was President and Head of Creative at Pulse Music Group and grew the company into one of the most prominent and diverse independent music publishers. Through her career, Egan has worked with superstar artists – from Kehlani to Tiesto, Run The Jewels to Brandi Carlile – and led the Pulse team to achieving more than 10 billion combined music streams, 100 million RIAA-certified units, 150 RIAA Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum song certifications, 10 Billboard Hot 100 Number Ones and many other awards. She was featured on Billboard’s “40 Under 40” list in 2017 and Billboard's “Women in Music” in 2018 and 2019. She sits on the LA chapter board of the Recording Academy.
