Stacy Baird
Senior Policy Advisor and Counsel, Sen. Maria Cantwell
Stacy Baird is Senior Policy Advisor and Counsel to Senator Maria Cantwell. In this role he advises the Senator on technology and intellectual property policy, foreign relations, defense and trade issues, as well as U.S. constitutional issues. Previously, residing in Hong Kong for 15 years, Mr. Baird served as an advisor to businesses and governments on information technology, privacy, and intellectual property public policy and law as Consulting Director for a Singapore-based consulting firm. He also served as Executive Director of the US-China Clean Energy Forum Intellectual Property Program where he worked with government, academia and industry in a bilateral government clean energy research program. Prior to law, Mr. Baird worked as music recording engineer with clients including producers T Bone Burnett and Rick Nowels, and with artists including Elvis Costello, Brian Eno/David Byrne, Madonna, Stevie Nicks and the Tubes. He has held appointments as Visiting Scholar at the University of Southern California College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and Visiting Fellow at the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law.
