General Counsel & Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, Music.AI

Seth is General Counsel and Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs at Music.AI, the leading complementary AI-powered music and audio platform used by record labels, artists, ad agencies, technology companies and developers to quickly build and scale AI products and services. Music.AI also operates Moises.AI, the leading music app for musicians and artists. At Music.AI, he is responsible for counseling the company on the complex and uncertain legal and business landscape surrounding AI’s impact on the music industry.

After working in white collar criminal defense, Seth began his legal career in the music industry at MediaNet, an advanced music distribution and rights platform purpose-built by two of the major record labels to get music services to market quickly. There he partnered with labels, publishers and PROs to launch over 100 music services for companies like Google, Beats Music, Microsoft, Samsung, Tesla and Snapchat. Next, he served as General Counsel and Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs for Dataclef, a commercial venture of SOCAN, the Canadian PRO. Seth was later hired as the Head of Business Affairs at Audible Magic, an intermediary between rightsholders and social media platforms that managed content ID for companies like Facebook and Twitch. Prior to joining Music.AI he was Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs at Utopia Music.

Seth has spent his entire career sitting between the users and creators, trying to balance those relationships from the middle. He believes that everyone can benefit from AI in different ways and the key is to find a way to use this technology to innovate in the market while protecting the interests of rightsholders and artists.
