Mondo.NYC Speaker
Mitch Glazier
Chairman & CEO, Recording Industry Association of America
In his more than 20 years at RIAA, Glazier has played a vital role in the music industry’s transition to streaming and “anywhere, anytime” access to music.
Before joining RIAA, Glazier served as Chief Counsel for Intellectual Property to the Judiciary Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. In his career in and out of government, Glazier has worked on every major U.S. copyright bill considered in the past three decades from the Digital Performance Right in Sound Recordings Act of 1995 to the Music Modernization Act of 2018, laying the foundation for the modern streaming economy that has strengthened and remade the music business for the 21st Century.
A native of Chicago, Glazier served as a Federal Judicial Law Clerk and practiced law at the firm Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg as an associate in commercial litigation. He graduated from Northwestern University and Vanderbilt Law School.
Named to Billboard’s Power 100 list of top music executives, Glazier serves as Chairman of the Board of RIAA, Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Musicians on Call, the charity that brings the healing power of music to the bedsides of patients in hospitals and care facilities, and serves on the Boards of IFPI, SoundExchange, and Leadership Music.
He and his wife, Carly, have two sons, ages 23 and 20 – one of them a songwriter, producer and musician himself.

10/16/24, 8:30 PM
Join us as RIAA Chairman & CEO Mitch Glazier sits down for an intimate chat with country music legend Randy Travis and Mary Travis.
With lifetime RIAA Gold & Platinum certifications of more than 25 million, Randy Travis is one of the biggest multi-genre recording artists of all time. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016, and his many honors include seven Grammy Awards, eleven Academy of Country Music Awards, ten American Music Awards, two People’s Choice Awards, seven Music City News Awards, eight Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association and five Country Music Association honors. In addition, three of his performances earned CMA Song of the Year honors: “On the Other Hand” (1986), “Forever and Ever Amen” (1987) and “Three Wooden Crosses” (2002). To date, he has 23 number one singles, 31 top ten smashes and more than 40 appearances in feature films and television shows to his credit. Four of his albums have gone gold; four platinum; one double platinum; one triple platinum; and another quintuple platinum. Randy has been honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and on the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville. He has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1986.
Since his near fatal stroke in 2013 – with the help of his wife Mary and rigorous physical therapy – Randy continues to make improvements in his speaking, walking, and yes, singing. With the help of author Ken Abraham, he released his critically acclaimed memoir in 2019, Forever and Ever, Amen. In 2021 CMT named Randy the CMT Artist of a Lifetime and in 2022 the country music icon released his award-winning documentary More Life. Earlier this year, Travis released “Where That Came From,” among the first artists to commercially issue a song with the use of AI to fully recreate his voice. The tune was featured on CBS Sunday Morning, and by the Associated Press, Joe Rogan and the Bobby Bones Show, and became Randy’s first Billboard-charting song in nearly two decades.
