Kristin Robinson is a senior writer at Billboard. Her work explores the intersection of music publishing and technology. She was the recent finalist for a 2023 National Arts and Entertainment Journalism award for her investigative piece “How Did Two Unknown Latin Music Operators Make $23 Million From YouTube? The IRS Says They Stole It,” and a Los Angeles Press Club award for her profile of hip-hop producer Mike Dean.

Before joining the Billboard staff in July 2021, Robinson worked at indie label 10K Projects, and wrote about music business as a freelance journalist for Variety, Billboard, Consequence of Sound, Water + Music and more. She graduated from University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music in May 2020.
