James is the co-founder of EnterGain, the executive recruiting, leadership development and strategic planning firm. He personally recruits and places talent at the director through CEO level for the firm’s clients. He is also key to the leadership development practice where he coaches teams and individuals and facilitates strategic planning with executive teams and boards. Some of James’ clients in the music ecosystem include: A2IM, Beggars Group, DREAMSTAGE, eOne Entertainment, Exceleration Music Group, Merlin, Hipgnosis, NIVA, ONErpm, Reservoir, Rights Up, Secretly Group, Seeker Music Group, Sony Music, SoundExchange, SyncFloor and YouTube Music.

Previously, he has served as VP HR for The Madison Square Garden Company, Warner Music Group and TVT Records. Prior to his in-house roles, James advanced from research associate to managing director at a major global executive search firm, including working in the firm’s entertainment practice and serving in a leadership role in an online recruiting division.

James has taught as an adjunct in the Masters in Music Business program at NYU’s Steinhardt School. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and an SPHR certification.
