Edward Zyszkowski

Co-founder & CEO, Personal Digital Spaces

Edward is a Co-Founder & CEO of Person in al Digital Spaces, as well as CEO of edzLabs LLC, a technology incubator, and Managing Partner at 3x3 Capital LLC. Edward previously served as Chief Technology Officer at Skyview Capital LLC where he oversaw technology strategy, diligence and oversight for Skyview Capital investments and its portfolio companies. He also co-founded Skyview Ventures and served as Chief Technology Officer at Syncplicity (now Axway), Digital Fuel (formerly a division of VMWare) and NewNet Communications Technologies.

As a visionary leader, entrepreneur and technologist, Edward has created billions of dollars of value and a legacy of industry-transforming technologies. He began his career at the Research Institute for Advanced Studies as a principal investigator, building robotics systems for the Space Shuttle. He later invented foundational “data mining” technologies and developed parallel text search systems for Dow Jones and Microsoft while at Thinking Machines Corporation. Edward later founded and led Torrent Systems to develop Orchestrate, a parallel processing big data environment, which he later sold to IBM that forms the basis for their Information Server product (IBM Watson). He has also assembled and led high performing
teams to create pivotal technology companies that he sold to Boeing, Yahoo! and Google.

Edward was a member of the Editorial Board of IEEE Spectrum for over a decade, and he serves on the External Advisory Committee of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department of the Whiting School of Engineering at Johns Hopkins. He completed his undergraduate degree and graduate studies in Biophysics at the Johns Hopkins University, postgraduate studies at MIT and an MBA at Babson College.
