Thomas Piper is an accomplished soulful vocalist, dynamic sound sculptor and phenomenal visual artist, encompassing an array of multimedia processes to highlight his musical artistry to uplift and inspire humanity. Thomas resides in Brooklyn, was raised in Uniondale, Long Island, and is of Trinidadian descent. Fall of 2022, Thomas releases a new album reminiscent of the late '60s, early '70s singer-songwriter Laurel Canyon movement and west coast storytellers. Drawing inspiration from early soft rock, he meticulously blends woodsy tones with lo-fi, crafting his signature futuristic folk-fi sound. An updated modern version of future folk, Thomas pens exquisite messages through soulful songs layered with acoustic-sounding digital instruments. With virtuoso skill using his Ableton Push controller he composed his upcoming album by himself using analog synthesizers, Ableton, and his warm vocals. Lyrically, he crafted songs reflecting on living in the post-pandemic era: the digital chaos and dystopia we live in now, adding personal struggles he’s gone through during these times. His next album is set to be released late 2022/ early 2023. A multi-genre and multi-instrumental artist, Thomas’s past work Permission to Live is an uplifting masterpiece that offers his fans an eclectic mix of modern melodies and personal calls to action. Thomas Piper has opened for international band Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, featured with Amel Larrieux, Hank Shocklee, Soul in the Horn’s premier party with Natasha Diggs, showcased with DJ Spinna and Uptown Vinyl Supreme, DJ Quinnette - Soul Purpose, So Far Sounds California, Time Out NY, and Eaton Hotel Radio. Outstanding music magazine and blog interviews include Ableton artist documentary, Earmilk magazine and Soul Tracks. In addition, he is the resident musician and videographer for In Plain Sight and recipient of Ace Hotel New York Artist in Residency where he created, filmed and performed his original music documentary titled De-Gentrify. On The People’s Republic of Sound, his musical and visual production company, Thomas Piper hosts Beat Design, his YouTube channel where he performs live beat-making and singing sessions. His company has filmed music videos for Motema Records artist Gregory Porter & Joey Alexander, as well as directed videos for Georgia Ann Muldrow and others. He was honored to sing, write and direct "Let’s Move Your Body," a jumping jack song for Sesame Street’s YouTube channel Sesame Studios. In July 2019 Earl Mosley, Diversity of Dance, Choreographed an original work “Better Days” to is song "God’s Light - Sun Light."
