The “Re-Imagine” Duo is composed by the flugelhornist Dario Savino Doronzo (1986) and the pianist Pietro Gallo (1985), musicians with classical backgrounds but also extremely eclectic musicians from jazz music to world music. Doronzo graduated in trumpet, jazz music, musical technologies, direction and composition for choir with Armando Tonelli, Vito A. Morra and Roberto Ottaviano. Gallo graduated and specialized in piano with Eleonora Orlando. They performed in major concert halls and jazz festivals in Italy and abroad: Carnegie Hall, New York, Spectrum NYC, Brooklyn, IIC – Italian Cultural Institute of New York, Thelonious Jazz Club of Buenos Aires, Auditorium “Juan Victoria” of San Juan (AR), University of Arts of Tirana and Auditorium Gjon Kapidani of Scutari (AL), RuidalSud International Festival of Arts, Municipal Conservatory of Thermi / Thessaloniki (GR), Ciglana Klub of Belgrade (CS), Kulturni Centar of Novi Sad (CS), Yasar University of Izmir (TR), Coimbra and Aveiro University (PT), mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts di Vienna (AT), Manhattan Theater of Rome, Talos Festival, Spazio Classica of Milan, Piacenza Jazz Fest, Beat Onto Jazz Festival, Rodi Jazz Festival (IT), European Arts Academy –-International Music Foundation. They were awarded in more than 20 International Music Competitions as Jazz Soloists. They recorded for the DiG – Digressione Music Label a CD entitled “Reimagining Opera” with the collaboration of Michel Godard at Serpent. They are also devoted also to teaching, holding courses and seminars focusing on trumpet and on jazz performance in Italy and abroad (US, Argentina, Greece, Albania, Serbia), and teaching trumpet and piano in Italian music conservatories and in high schools of music.
