Kyotolp
Bari, Italy
Wednesday Live Stream
Kyotolp is the stage name of Roberta Russo, born in 1996, raised in Monza and currently living in Bari. She boasts participation in Rockin' 1000, as a drummer at Linate Airport in October 2019 with Subsonica and Afterhours, as well as a small live collaboration with Morgan, former leader of Bluvertigo. Kyoto was born in October 2020. The peculiarity of the project lies in the fact that the songs are performed live almost exclusively with the voice and the use of a loop station, using the beatbox technique in live performances without the help of pre-recorded sequences. The voice is therefore the real protagonist of this electronic project that combines music, singing and spoken word. In November 2020 the first song "La Frontiera" was released, focused on the theme of immigration, which aroused the interest of radio stations including RTL 102.5 that decided to interview her. At the end of July PRIMAVERA21 was released, an intimate and passionate story about the months of lockdown, produced by Tonico70, rapper, beatmaker and DJ from Salerno, founder of the independent label DINT RECORDZ and producer of note. The song is sponsored by several magazines including the MEI, "meeting of the independent." Since June, Kyoto has been engaged in a mini tour of Italy that brought her to various stages including Cavofest (renowned festival of electronic music in Puglia).
