While most 15-year-old, music-obsessed girls may sit in their bedrooms making playlists, Sevi Ettinger writes the songs to fill them too. And not just tunes about boys and, well, boys. No, Ettinger – an American living in Shanghai – penned her most recent EP, entitled “Shallow Water” in hopes of giving a voice to Syrian refugee children. It features four diverse, gripping pop cuts, including an impressively touching title track and “Eyes,” which Digital Journal claims to be an atmospheric ballad with vocals as pure as snow. You can hear Sevi Ettinger perform at the upstairs lounge of Pianos on Thursday, October 4th at 7:00 PM.
