Joseph Lee, aka Jae Luna, is a singer-songwriter/producer based in Brooklyn. His EP, Projected Self, is a sonic reflection of introspection and self-awareness. The child of Korean immigrants, Luna’s musical upbringing was unique; by 5th grade he was listening exclusively to Nas, Big L, Notorious B.I.G., The Strokes, and Fall Out Boy. In college, his influence was dominated by trap, folk, and left-field electronic artists. Jae Luna’s music combines 808 subs and hi-hats, lo-fi electric guitars, over-compressed drums, R&B riffs, synthesizers, and complex electronic harmonies to present his upbringing as the child of an immigrant. Go hear Jae Luna at Bowery Electric on Wednesday, October 3rd at 8:20 PM.
